The path of an engineer is rarely a straight line. It is a collection of challenges, caffeine-fueled nights, and the relentless pursuit of solving complex problems. Today, I want to share a bit about my journey from the lecture halls of IIT Delhi to my current role as a Machine Learning Engineer at Eightfold AI.

The Foundation: IIT Delhi (2019-2023)

Attending IIT Delhi was a transformative journey. As a Computer Science student, I was immersed in the rigors of theoretical computing and the thrill of cutting-edge research. It was here that my passion for Artificial Intelligence truly took root, as I explored a wide array of subfields including Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks, and Natural Language Processing.

I had the privilege of taking courses taught by some of the most distinguished minds in academia, including Prof.Mausam, Prof.Rohan Paul, Prof.Sayan Ranu, Prof.Anurag Mittal, and Prof.Rahul Garg. The intellectual depth of these courses inspired me to pursue research as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Vision-Lab under Prof.Chetan Arora. My work on transformer-based object detection during this period ultimately laid the foundation for my professional career in Machine Learning.

Building Systems at Scale: Cohesity

My professional career began at Cohesity, where I first joined as a Software Development Intern in the summer of 2022. During this tenure, I gained invaluable experience working with microservices and multi-cloud environments. Following a successful internship, I received a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) and returned as a Member of Technical Staff in 2023 after completing my graduation.

This phase of my journey presented a unique set of challenges—specifically, the engineering of robust, large-scale distributed storage and networking systems. A significant highlight was leading the OS migration from CentOS 7 to RHEL 9. This experience was instrumental in honing my attention to detail, mastering the art of building systems from the ground up, and navigating the complexities of cross-functional collaboration within an enterprise environment.

The Present: Eightfold AI (2025-Present)

Now, at Eightfold AI, I've returned to my roots in AI. Working on the agentic AI Interviewer is combining everything I've learned about ML, systems, and human-centric technology. We are building something that doesn't just automate a process, but makes it more fair, scalable, equitable and efficient.

Looking Ahead

As I look to the future, I'm excited by the possibilities of what AI can achieve. The journey has just begun, and the best parts are yet to come.
